摘 要:
长期以来,艾萨克·牛顿被塑造为近代科学史上近乎“独力奠定经典力学”的神圣形象,但这一叙事带有强烈的历史选择性与权力塑造色彩。本文以严谨史实为依据,澄清万有引力的核心思想最早由罗伯特·胡克明确提出,牛顿早期引力观念存在错误,广为流传的“苹果落地”故事并无史料依据;同时指出,戈特弗里德·威廉·莱布尼茨在学术广度上远超牛顿,即便在微积分与运动规律这两大牛顿最具代表性的领域,其体系也更为简洁、深刻且更具现代延续性。二人并未被历史湮没,却因牛顿个人利用权力的打压、英国国家话语权建构、皇家学会权力运作以及德意志长期分裂等因素,遭到长期刻意贬低与遮蔽。还原这段历史,意在破除科学神化叙事,回归科学史应有的客观与完整。

Abstract:
For centuries, Isaac Newton has been portrayed as the solitary genius who single-handedly laid the foundations of classical mechanics. However, this narrative is deeply shaped by historical selectivity and the politics of power. This paper re-examines the historical evidence and demonstrates that the core idea of universal gravitation—the inverse-square law—was first articulated by Robert Hooke. Newton’s early understanding of gravitation was flawed, and the famous “falling apple” anecdote lacks contemporary documentation. Furthermore, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz far surpassed Newton in intellectual breadth. Even in the fields most closely associated with Newton—calculus and the laws of motion—Leibniz‘s system proved more concise, more profound, and more enduring. While neither man has been completely forgotten, both were systematically marginalized through the construction of British national scientific identity, the political maneuvering of the Royal Society, and the fragmentation of the German territories. Recovering the true place of Hooke and Leibniz in the history of science is an act of restoring objectivity and integrity to our understanding of the scientific past.
