Abstract:
Dance/movement therapy and music therapy, as non-pharmacological alternative approaches in clinical practice, demonstrate unique value in promoting and restoring emotional regulation and mental health. However, traditional practices often treat the two as independent fields, with limitations such as insufficient personalization and lack of real-time feedback in therapeutic applications. Based on the deep physiological and psychological connections between movement and sound, this paper analyzes the mechanisms of motor activity and the principles of music intervention, and innovatively proposes an “Emotion–Body” cycle model. This model views music and dance as a dynamic, interactive therapeutic whole, outlining a closed-loop process from emotional triggering, sensory perception, imagery formation, movement expression, and bodily perception changes, which ultimately feeds back to influence emotions. It systematically explains the targeted regulatory role of music at each stage of this cycle. Furthermore, this paper incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) technology to address the bottlenecks of traditional methods. Through the design and implementation of a preliminary experiment, an AI-assisted dance and music interactive therapy program was applied, and participants’ physiological and psychological data were comprehensively collected. The results indicate that this integrated approach relatively enhances therapeutic outcomes.
