质数家族的孤单

摘 要:
几乎每个人都与自然数打交道。质数(也称素数)是自然数中的闪亮之星,人类很早就开始研究它们,知道它们有无限多个,但是却无法精确描述它们的分布规律,不知道下一个素数在哪里。我能在人类认知领域的暗区里,感觉到还有无限多个素数在孤单地存在着,能觉察到这种孤寂的感觉,就像能感受到战争给无家可归者带来的孤寂一样——那是人类文明暗区带来的无助的心痛。黎曼猜想试图借助泽塔函数ζ(s)的零点分布,来揭示素数的一个分布规律。若猜想得证,素数大家族就从孤单中解脱出来了,亮敞地呈现在人类的视野中。本文以歌曲的形式阐述黎曼猜想对素数分布规律的苦苦探寻之情,寄托人类对尚处于认知暗区和文明暗区之中的事物的思念与慰藉。

Abstract:
Almost everyone deals with natural numbers. Prime numbers, the shining stars among them, have captivated human curiosity since ancient times. We have long known that there are infinitely many primes, yet we remain unable to precisely describe their distribution or predict where the next prime will appear. In the uncharted territories of human cognition, I can sense countless primes existing in solitude—a loneliness I perceive as acutely as the desolation felt by those displaced by war, a helpless ache born from the shadows of human civilization. The Riemann Hypothesis attempts to unveil a pattern in the distribution of primes through the zeros of the zeta function, ζ(s). If proven true, the vast family of primes would emerge from isolation, fully illuminated within the scope of human understanding. This article expresses, in the form of a song, the relentless pursuit encapsulated in the Riemann Hypothesis to decipher the distribution of primes—a testament to humanity’s longing and solace for what still lies hidden in the realms of knowledge and civilization.
