Improving Chlorine-Sugar Experiment by Variable Control
As a core methodology in scientific inquiry and comparative experiments within high school chemistry, the controlled variable method isolates a single factor by keeping all other conditions constant, thereby transforming multifactorial problems into single-factor studies. Centering on this method, this paper improves the classic "chlorine-sugar experiment" based on the principle of variable control. By substituting reactants and observing the variations in experimental phenomena, it not only verifies that substances containing sugars, starch, and carbohydrates can participate in the reaction but also extends the investigation to the principles of rocket propellants. This demonstrates a progressive logical transition from basic experimentation to cutting-edge applications. The research indicates that the controlled variable method holds significant practical value and educational significance in explaining the rationale behind experimental improvements, optimizing process parameters, and understanding chemical reaction mechanisms, providing methodological support for cultivating students' scientific inquiry capabilities.
