Abstract:
Objective: To conduct a visualization analysis of new training models and progress for junior nurses, providing research directions and data references for their training. Methods: Research data were sourced from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database, and relevant literature published between January 2015 and December 2025 was screened. CiteSpace software was used to conduct a visual analysis of publication volume, authors, institutions, and keywords. Results: The number of publications on junior nurse training peaked in 2016 (86 articles) and has since shown a fluctuating downward trend. The most prolific author was Ji Yunlan (4 articles), and the institution with the highest number of publications was the Department of Pediatrics at Tongji Hospital, affiliated with Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (5 articles). Keyword clustering yielded 10 valid clusters, including “training,” “operating room,” “on-the-job training,” “satisfaction,” “emergency response ability,” “self-efficacy,” “nurse training,” “nurses,” “retraining,” and “clinical training.” Timeline analysis showed that research on themes such as “on-the-job training,” “training,” and “self-efficacy” has persisted over a longer period. Keyword emergence analysis indicates that research focus has gradually shifted from “quality circles” to topics related to training effectiveness evaluation, such as “satisfaction,” “self-efficacy,” and “mind maps.” Conclusion: Research on training for junior nurses has received significant attention overall, but the collaboration network among authors and institutions remains relatively fragmented. Research focus has shifted from descriptive studies of training models to empirical research on training effectiveness, psychological states, and innovative teaching methods.
