Abstract:
Objective: Analysis of clinical management experience and mid-term follow-up outcome of newborns born to active tuberculosis mothers.Method: The clinical data of 3 newborns born to mothers with active tuberculosis from 2023-2025 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Mothers initiate standardized anti tuberculosis treatment at different gestational weeks. After birth, all newborns received tuberculosis related examinations, including clinical symptom assessment, tuberculin skin test (TST), gamma interferon release test (IGRA) and chest imaging, and were followed up.Result: Among the 3 newborns, 2 were full-term and 1 was premature (26 weeks+). No evidence of active tuberculosis or latent tuberculosis infection was found in all newborn assessments at birth. Under the standard follow-up, 2 cases completed at least 2 years of follow-up, and all grew well without active tuberculosis. Conclusion: For newborns born to tuberculosis mothers who received standardized treatment during pregnancy, good mid-term outcomes can be achieved through timely and systematic evaluation and standardized follow-up after birth. Multidisciplinary collaboration and long-term follow-up are crucial.
