Abstract:
The urbanization process is accelerating, which causes the middle school campuses in the core areas of cities to simultaneously face two practical problems: one is the increasingly scarce land resources, and the other is the significant increase in functional usage demands. The traditional planar expansion model has been unable to meet the current development needs. The campus is transforming towards a three-dimensional and intensive complex structure, which has become an inevitable trend. This study focuses on the design methods of middle school campus complexes in high-density urban environments. By combining literature review, case research, and comparative analysis, etc., an integrated design system covering functions, spaces, and technologies is attempted to be established. At the functional level, modular integration and vertical space superposition are used to improve the campus layout. At the spatial level, the interconnection of three-dimensional spaces and multi-level public spaces enrich the campus form. At the technical level, natural climate regulation and standardized structure adaptation are relied upon to improve the construction plan. Taking Wuyishan No. 2 Middle School as an example, several methods including terrain integration design, dual first-floor space creation, multi-functional renovation of the stormy track, multi-height vertical traffic organization, terraced structure layout, and personalized climate interface design have been verified. These methods have strong practical value. The research conclusions can not only provide a set of implementable design systems for the construction of middle school campuses in high-density urban areas, but also provide theoretical basis and practical references for improving the utilization rate of campus space and the overall environmental quality.
