Abstract:
In the cross-disciplinary research between the theory of Five Elements and Six Climatic Influences (Wuyun Liuqi) and climatic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory is integrated with modern climatic medicine for the first time. The theory of Wuyun Liuqi, an extension of TCM's Yin-Yang and Five Elements theory, primarily elucidates the relationship between climate change and human health. Modern climatic medicine, on the other hand, focuses on the impact of the climatic environment on human health, particularly the effects of climate change on epidemiology and infectious diseases. The cross-disciplinary study reveals that the interrelationship between the human body and the natural environment emphasized in TCM's Wuyun Liuqi theory holds significant reference value for predicting and responding to disease epidemics influenced by climate change. By introducing research methodologies from modern climatic medicine and excavating the contemporary scientific elements within traditional TCM theory, the study demonstrates the modern value and practicality of the Wuyun Liuqi theory in climatic medicine. This research not only enriches TCM's theoretical framework for disease prevention and treatment but also provides a new research perspective and theoretical foundation for climatic medicine. It possesses high theoretical value and practical significance, offering crucial theoretical support and practical evidence for the innovation, development, and modernization of China's traditional medicine.
