Abstract:
To systematically systematize the application scenarios, ethical risks, and integration pathways of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of social work, this study employs a scoping review method to retrieve and analyze relevant literature from databases including Web of Science,Science Direct, and CNKI. The findings indicate that AI exhibits significant empowering potential in both the education and practice of social work. The findings reveal that the empowering effects of AI are primarily manifested in two domains of education and practice, demonstrating significant potential. At the same time, the application of this technology poses ethical risks such as data privacy breaches, algorithmic bias, the erosion of critical thinking, and the weakening of interpersonal relationships. These risks exhibit distinct characteristics across different stakeholders, including students, educators, social workers, and clients. To address these challenges, existing research has proposed multiple integrative frameworks, which can be summarized into five dimensions: ethical values and rights protection; core competencies and literacy development; community participation and empowerment; technology integration and critical application; and policy integration and organizational support. This paper aims to provide an integrative reference for transitioning this field from theoretical exploration to empirical testing and calls for strengthening evidence-based research to promote substantive integration.
Keywords: Artificial intelligence; Social work; Scoping review; Ethical risks; Empowerment landscape; Integrative frameworks
